What is MVV?
Midvinterveckan (MVV) is a youth camp held each year around New Year's, somewhere in Finland. An English translation of "Midvinterveckan" would be Midwinter Week. MVV started in 1936 and has only had one break after that when the organizers were drafted into military.
What do you do there?
At the camp you can expect solid Bible teaching, interesting workshops, prayer and intercession, intense praise, (and) worship and dancing. Our hope and prayer is that MVV would be an experience where Jesus is at the centre of everything we do.
The camp brings together a couple of hundred Swedish-speaking young people from different Christian denominations. In recent years, a number of Finnish-speaking youth and young people from other countries have also participated.
When is it?
MVV is usually held from the 28th of December to the 2nd of January. So we celebrate the new year together, which is cool.
Who is preaching?
We always invite interesting and humble people. :-)
How much is it?
The idea is that everyone, regardless of whether you can afford it, would have the opportunity to come to MVV. For this reason, we don't have a special fee to participate - we trust you to give as much or as little as you can afford. So, if you have a lot of money this year, you can give more, otherwise you can give less. In this way we can help each other. The approximate cost for each participant for the whole week is 65-90 €, and we always start from scratch.
